VFW membership eligibility consists of three criteria:

1. United States Citizenship Honorable Military Service
2. Recognized Service in overseas conflict:Campaign Medal, Service in Korea, NEW: Hostile Fire, or Imminent Danger Pay Zone.

To become a member:

1. Print and complete this application Application form: (after printing the application form, press your browser back button to return to this page)
2. Attach copies of documentation proving your eligibility. (If you do not have your "Form DD-214)
   then click here to file for one on the "National Archives" website that comes up. Follow instructions for using eVetRecs Request System.
3. Go Back to this site's Home Page and click the "Post" link. Choose a VFW Post from the table
   on that page and call the number for the Post that you choose in order to get further instructions.

Where this application is received and processed prior to August 1, membership is credited to the current calendar year. Applications received after August 1 will be credited to the next year.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars reserves the right to disapprove applications and to require further proof when it is necessary to prove eligibility.

Members-at-Large may apply for transfer of membership to a local post at any time!
