SAMNORWOOD - Johnny M. Morgan III, 54, died Friday, Aug. 13, 2010.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church in Wellington with the Rev. Gene Wienette, minister; Col. Jeff Breor, Chaplain (LTC) Craig Coombs and Chaplain (LTC) Terry Callis officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.
Johnny was born Nov. 8, 1955, in Wellington to John M. Morgan Jr. and Mary Hartgraves Morgan. He graduated from Samnorwood High School in 1974 as salutatorian of his class. He was a retired courier for the DOE Pantex Plant.
Johnny served four years in the Army at Fort Sill, Okla., where he served on the ceremonial Half Section Infantry Team. He was the Battalion CSM of the 56th IBCT of the National Guard. Johnny was in his 32nd year with the Texas National Guard. He had served two tours of duty in Iraq. He was a Methodist.
Survivors include his daughter, Wynona Jean Bloodworth and husband James of Marlow, Okla.; a grandson, Robbie Traughber of Marlow, Okla.; his mother, Mary Morgan of Wellington; and a sister, Jayne Bell and husband Byron of Wellington.
The family suggests memorials be to Shamrock Cemetery, 311 N. Wall St., Shamrock, TX 79079-2233; or a favorite charity.
